  • Unfortunately the castle was defaced in the late 19th century with the installation of the prison (closed in 1989) of which still remain. The castle is from the end of 1200, and is currently run by a local company "Coop. social Chameleon "who organizes guided tours and exhibitions both temporary and permanent. Strongly suggestive is a visit to the male Blackbird (but also to "female Blackbird") from which you can admire the surrounding landscape to 360 degrees, really lovely. To get a very narrow staircase of a hundred steps, so it is not recommended for people suffering from claustrophobia. Currently, in the Castle, there is a permanent exhibition on organs and phonographs "From barrel organs at talking machines up to vinyl", which belongs to a private person who, often, like people with precise explanations and pleasant demonstrations on instruments. Another permanent exhibition, also interesting is "Castello della civiltà contadina", with farmers ' tools of the past. The castle is only open on Sundays and public holidays, from 10:30 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 18:00, but the afternoon from calling you can also arrange for a visit extra. It costs € 4.

  • I lived in a castle for 25 years, not because they were the owner, but as the son of the keeper and I in turn travel guide. So I think I talk with a minimum of knowledge of the facts. This structure was used as a prison until 80, with everything that goes with it: internal little remains of the original structure because of various adaptations over the years. He is also one of those State assets put up for sale and had no buyers, resulting in lack of investment. Currently it is run by a social cooperative that manages the guided tours and maintenance. Indoors there is also an interesting exhibition of musical equipment such as phonographs, record players and anything else that goes from its origins to today. A round of applause to the guides who passionately told the various life stages of this castle. Don't give 5 stars because it needs a lot of work to be restored to its former glory. Got ' 4 for encouragement to those who, with great passion, holding open this castle and especially to the great potential that I've seen.
