La Trappa Reviews
Saliti da Sordevolo in un oretta ammirando il paesaggio, noi eravamo in 12 persone ma oggi era l'ultimo giorno di apertura stagionale di questa struttura e quindi in totale c'erano un centinaio di pers... more »Rose from Sordevolo in an hour admiring the scenery, we were 12 people but today was the last day of open season at this and so in total there were a hundred people. The staff was definitely in trouble managing all these clients, but to sample a meal so poor quantity and quality you can very well use some consistency when presenting the Bill!!! Repeat taste a spoonful of boiled potatoes, a tablespoon of pepper, a slice of omelette 4 cm long and 3 cm long, 1 cm thick slices of tomino, these appetizers. Second there was told there was a dish of polenta, cabbages and salcicetta, but salcicetta to us never arrived, replaced by two patties each, two tablespoons of cabbages and two tablespoons per head of simple polenta, these are the real portions. A small slice of (3 cm x 3 cm) sweet maybe it was a bad copy of palpiton. Water, wine, coffee and bread of two qualities, the start of the meal was delicious but at the end they brought a bread perhaps old and much lower quality than the first. "All" these courses we paid 20 euros, a theft (opinion shared by everyone in our exhibition about 50 people) since we got up all with hunger. There is that today there was a lot of people at lunch but you can't pull so the amount and then get 20 euros per person. What about other ... nothing I was not clear enough, I forgot we also bought 2 bags of roasted chestnuts to 2.50 euros each, we throw away almost all sucked really, I later heard that eventually paid were probably realized or someone complaining about the theft immediately. NEVER MORE to lunch here from all of us.

Got to the landscape and the building line make the magic place. There is a small restaurant entered the building with Alfresco dining, that we didn't try, and there is the possibility to visit the Interior of the convent alone or with a guided tour. It felt very good to handlers. Visit that definitely deserves.

Former monastery, for years left in ruins, was the subject of a restoration by an Association of volunteers, who continue the work even today. Large areas dedicated to exhibition, concerts, large lawn which allows you to eat outside in good weather. a guide to visit the facility. On weekends there is a typical local Cuisine: polenta with stewed beef or sausage, "frich from marghe '", meats and cheeses. Only flaw portions too measured, low-quality wine, sweet and quite repetitive (the cake of bread is not sweet). Place for everyone, from the street/Schwierigkeit arrive on foot in ten minutes, or you can make a longer walk and leave the car at Bagneri or Sordevolo. Recommended.
A place to think about restoring simple life
The Trappist monastery has a bit of everything: Museum, exhibitions and concerts, outdoor classroom for various types of courses (painting, masonry, plants ...), caterer, stabling, Guest House and retreat. This is especially a place forgotten for decades, which the community has decided to reclaim to bring it back to life, first restoring it with painstaking care. The view and the place are really nice, and can be the starting point for walks to suit everyone. Upon reservation, at the weekend, you can eat meals based on local foods (polenta, butter, cheese, potatoes ...), fairly good, very simple. To enjoy them in the best condition it is best to choose a period of overcrowding is not excessive! It's good to know that in the summer the Trappist monastery can be a seaport, very populated with people and dogs: who moves with a quadruped must bear in mind that the Trappist monastery talking will meet many others, often without a leash.
is a former factory of 700 who for a decade has hosted the trappist monks perfectly restored in the heart of the Biellese. opportunity to sample the local cuisine I think upon reservation. within walking distance of sordevolo the drive from oropa
a successful restoration, you can dine with your dogs when you book if possible, simple meals of a farming culture not to be forgotten
