  • La rocca Meli Lupi di Soragna is a medieval building transformed into an elegant noble residence between the 16th and 19th centuries, in piazza Bonifacio Meli Lupi at Soragna, Parma 5. The building still belongs to the Princes Meli Lupi di Soragna, who ruled the Principality until the abolition of feudalism decreed by dictator Napoleon Bonaparte in 1805.Il first castle built to defend the territory of Soragna was begun in 985 by the Marquis Adalbert Pallavicino. The castle is inhabited by the heir of the Princes Meli Lupi, is chargeable with member discounts do and seniors over 65 years old. The halls and lounges are twenty all furnished with original materials. It is possible (in groups with a guide), in addition to the central courtyard with porch, Baglione, the yellow room, the bride's room, Bocchirale room, the red room, the billiard room, the Sala degli Stucchi, the Gallery of the poets, the chapel of Santa Croce, the blockhouse, the dining room, the Armory, the nuns ' Gallery , the grand staircase, the Grand Gallery, the Hall of strong women, the throne room, the bridal room and the living room Dorato.Il first garden was built in 1542 at the back of the fortress. Today the garden develops on the back of the Castle, stretching up to the little Pillbox Ghibelline battlements of neo-Gothic style, which concludes the Gallery of poets. According to legend, the walls of the castle would be the ghost of Cassandra Marinoni, better known as Common Woman, perhaps by the paleness of the skin, or hair color or clothes you would wear during the apparitions. The castle is open to the public and is part of the circuit of the castles of the Association of the castles of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza. NOT TO BE MISSED.

  • I've seen so many castles, beautiful out and empty inside, beautiful frescoes inside but bare of furniture. The fortress of Soragna is like traveling through time, you enter a castle (still inhabited by his master "Prince") and more than 500 years has never changed family, has never been looted or abandoned because it has always been inhabited by its noble masters. Result? Gorgeous, completely frescoed, rich furnishings, draperies, paintings and all that really need it and use it in a castle. A guide really prepared that describes in detail everything and takes us through the different periods from the middle ages to the Baroque. Gorgeous.

  • The little Versailles ... Absolutely recommended ... the Prince House ... a milestone for those who are passing through "low"

  • After Parmigianino in Fontanellato we covered a few km and after great culinary to Paoletta (recommended) we reached Soragna. Great tourist designation. It won't be a real Castle but it's so much stuff! Furniture square arms with the family Chapel frescoes and Prince attachment with family! Nice surprise and extensive guided tour! Upon returning to Cesena many they ask "where is it?" Would be better advertised

  • From the outside is sadness. A beautiful building, but needs maintenance-the dark fall apart, walls cracked ... Instead it all another thing! The buildings, paintings, objects ... It seems that in the next room you will meet some Lady or a gentleman. ... Intrigued by the fact that only half of the building is open to visitors, the other half lives on Prince;) Too bad it's little noticed.

  • Beautiful castle to visit. The frescoed and putties are preserved very well. Unfortunately, the garden is not accessible at all as the fortress is still inhabited.

  • A visit, but given the weather now rather a dive into the heart of Soragna. Come back after a few years, when the gates of the fortress were opened for the day of our wedding was very exciting and enjoyable. Thanks to Monica for sights and stories, one visit is not enough for so much history. My favorite room? the Golden lounge

  • A pleasant surprise, that contains a treasure trove of artworks. And with a little luck you might also exchange two words with Prince, who still live there.
