  • a beautiful and unique example of a natural phenomenon of partial erosion of the Earth where the part with the rock over protected from rain gave protection and created the tip not affected over the side walls attacked by water to form naturally narrow pyramids that everyone wants to see.

  • very interesting rock formation. It is off the beaten pass and required mountain driving through picturesque countryside and then long stroll by alpine medows  more »
  • Throughout the region there are varied spaces, all hidden, where erosion has been shaping curious structures on Earth. Perhaps the best-known are the Piramidi di Terra of the Renon. At the exit of the village of Renon (by the SP73) there is a car park (free) but that is still nearly 2 km away from the entrance to the grounds of the famous pyramids of land. Somewhat later, there is another left hand parking (also free and few cars), quite close to the trailhead. The path is well signposted once we arrived at the beautiful "Villa Stefania" on the right side of the mushroom (there can be a couple of disabled cars parked). The visit is free and schedules while the sun sets not. The route is well signposted with intermediate viewpoints and explanatory posters. From the main viewpoint is where best views there are pyramids, because in addition, is the Church of the village just over. If we continue walking other 500 m along the leafy path, we arrive at a bridge with a cruise, where should we turn right to reach the area closest to Earth towers. The place is very careful and really attractive. In our case the excursion took special chromatic dyes to be in the fall, giving so melancholic station intense red brushstrokes, Orange and yellow on the green background of the trees. As I said, nearby there are at least other two areas, lesser known, other pyramids of Earth, the Collepietra and the smallest of Auna di Soto.
