Castello scaligero, Sirmione
(4.4/5 based on 1,700+ reviews on the web)
Bordered on three sides by Lake Garda, Castello scaligero originally served as a port defense for Verona's medieval lords. Visit the 13th-century castle that stands guard over the town of Sirmione and its peninsula to see rooms filled with artifacts. Admire the crenellated walls and impressive stone towers, as well as the moat and a drawbridge. You can climb to the top for views of the town, lake, and countryside. For a different perspective, take a boat tour on the lake; many include the castle on their itineraries. • Seen as a floating fish with 40 meters which vistas and pictures shaken. We met at the sunset the upper Castle. Had dinner and then went around the Castle. A point of interest paid.

  • To visit the tower you will have to climb stairs. The place itself is simple and small but worth the beautiful landscape.

  • For a few euros you can get the history of the city and enjoy the view from the Castle Rocca Scaligera di Sirmione. The castle is completely surrounded by water and designed by Mastino in Scala in ca. 1200-century. I have been a large number of times in Sirmione and every time I'm off on the Castle where I charmed by the beautiful view. North towards the old town, sweet against the peninsula, to the East and the West each side of the peninsula.

  • A very nice looking castle. There's not really anything inside but you get to access the battlements and top of the tower. For the price it's worth it just for the views. For EU citizens under 25 it's just 2.50. Well worth it for the amazing views and neatly designed castle
  • A castle with superb views around Sirmione from the tower, a steep climb as well if you are less mobile. The ramparts give excellent vistas, again quite of steps to clamber up. we arrived just after opening time so it was not that busy, but by the time we left the tour buses had arrived so not only was the castle busy but the resort was too.
  • Free entrance to the castle was a nice surprise. Definitely worth a visit. From the tower you have a fantastic view over Sirmione andere the Garda Lake
  • Loved this place for the history. Dates back to the Romans. Great place to visit and eat. Was just right for the weekend.
  • This was a fun and free (in november) visit to the castle. Nice view on top of the castle.
