Where to stay in Siena

To enjoy panoramic views of Siena's historical old town, check into a luxury hotel in the city center. If you are looking to escape the activity of the main tourist areas, consider staying at a hostel or guesthouse just outside the central areas. Private multi-room villas in the residential neighborhoods offer landscaped outdoor space and secure parking. For something a little different and considerably less expensive, explore one of many B&Bs in the vineyards and olive groves of Siena's countryside.

  • If you're in the Piazza then you'll be staring at this all day. If you're in Siena in July or August, you'll see the Palio racing around the square.  more »

  • By far the most amazing view of Siena. Climb right to the top! The landscape is stunning. It's €10, but worth it. Also has a toilet you can access free before you enter
  • Slightly frightening but amazing views. Well worth the effort and the price.
  • Great 360 degree view from the 360 top of the tower. There is a charge, we paid 20 Euros for 2 adults and 1 child (aged 4). The climb to the top is in 2 stages, you only need to pay for the second stage. The first stage of the climb takes you to a plateau where you can see an overview of the square BUT not a 360 degree view.
  • You haven't been to Siena, if you haven't been to Piazza del Campo and saw Torre del Mangia. It's magnificent.
  • Moderately challenging hike up to he top but the vistas are worth it and the €10. Stunning views.
