(3.4/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Alcantara Gorge is a perfect place to swim, wade, and explore nature. You can view the gorge from above, walking among the lemon and orange trees, or you can descend to the bottom. If you plan on swimming, take a suit and sunscreen, as the sunlight gets quite strong in the area. There is also an elevator down to the water, so visitors who are physically challenged can enjoy it as well. • the Gorge of Alcantara, in his most spectacular, is a fairly short, few hundred meters. You can go down to visit it through a public scale (symbolic price: € 0.50). You can go walking alone in the river downstream from the scale (the less "beautiful"), where they begin the flaws, even serious ones: cleaning your site is really lacking, there is garbage piled everywhere. left me then puzzled the concrete tower that protrudes from one side of the Valley to accommodate the elevator. a natural monument was valued differently. the Gorges are therefore not recommended to those looking for an unusual natural environment, but some sort of amusement park with possibility of rafting and similar activities.

  • A basalt lava flow has created this Gorge, and the stream has hollowed out the path. Free parking, admission to private management is 5.00, and at the end of the visit you can do a free tasting of honey, jams and liqueurs. The first part is Botany, pity that the lemon and orange trees are spoiled by the cochineal and make their own little pleasant appearance. There are so many vantage points with nice views, then take an elevator and descend to the stream of clear waters, the environment is very special and Nice, stop!

  • Fortunately, we are not in high season because I can imagine that it is super touristy. The walk at the top of the gap we found not very spectacular. You can for € 1.00 the stairs and a piece of the gap in walking through the water. That's kind of fun to see. You are there in 1 hour ready.
