  • Exhibition locations are to be reviewed thoroughly and improve, the exhibits are left to fend for themselves, with minimal captions, often exposed in a non-organic, isolated and fragmentary. What is striking is the poor state of discovery of many objects and vases, Policoro and Metaponto in other museums exhibit the same period-the quality of the furnishings is far superior. Very interesting the V room. Very courteous and helpful staff, beautiful architectural structure. Worth a visit.

  • Magnificent Museum, huge, well laid out and full of wonderful exhibits. I put it like that to Heraklion in Crete

  • A nice modern museum did well and well cared for. It houses artifacts dating from the prehistoric era of ancient Greece to the Roman civilization, all found in the excavations nearby. There are many rooms with display cases filled with antiques. There are beautiful Greek vases intact and precious objects of gold of the 4th and 3rd century BC. The evidence of greater interest, though, are architectural fragments, iron age tombs, religious ornaments of the Temple of Athena of the 6th and 4th centuries BC. The guides are quite prepared and make you appreciate the beauty of the place and of subjects with a historical-archaeological and architectural-cultural enrichment, without weighing it down. Tickets cost 3 euros and includes also a visit to the dig site open to the public. Absolutely worth visiting.

  • It contains so few items and of such modest relevance that you should consider going only if you're already there.
  • Museum really well maintained considering the reduced ticket prices. In addition to the information we got a competent person who gave us important info to visit the archaeological site. I would emphasize more the Museum and its really interesting initiatives.

  • An impressive archaeological heritage in a very usable. Now we wait for the completion of the new wing and pedestrian path up to the Archaeological Park

  • I went to the excavations and the Museum with my daughter, but she left the Museum told me I did not understand anything. I said it was a shame because there was a guide in General and that there was only for schools. My daughter was very disappointed when, instead, was to be a unique experience.

  • The Museum is beautiful and has amazing finds! Certainly worth visiting. Cheap ticket ... just 3 euros. I would rather pay 10 and have been able to take advantage of a guide, even in groups or audio guide.
