Chianalea di Scilla, Scilla
(4.9/5 based on 750 reviews on the web)
Tour a historic district with restaurants and waterfront views at Chianalea di Scilla. Walk the cobblestone streets through this fishing village, which can be accessed only by foot. Stop off at the restaurant for seafood and enjoy the views of the sea. Look up at the legendary rock jutting out over the ocean, where Castello dei Ruffo now sits. It is fabled that this is the site where a witch turned a beautiful young girl into a sea monster, which Scilla is named after. There is a hotel in the district as well. • Just before arriving in Scilla we cross this fishing village, simply gorgeous! The houses are basically built on the sea, cobbled streets with shops and restaurants and in the background the castle of Scilla. To visit in the low season to enjoy the atmosphere: silence, moored boats and if you are lucky to find the storm is great to appreciate the sound of the waves crashing on the case ...

  • There are no words to describe the beauty of this splendid little town, surely one of the most beautiful and romantic.

  • A truly unique place: streets that lead you not at sea but at a boat landing, all in shades of blue (seem to be painted so to make great photos). Reminds me of the cinque terre but with many unrivalled features

  • We were not given a mini apartment. The area is not central; Breakfast is included but you have to go to a nearby bar where you can eat only things established, as long as they are available. In room refrigerator was not running and the small building was very busy and noisy. The hot water is dispensed via boiler and therefore not always available.

  • Good bed and breakfast consists of a ground floor Studio decently decorated. Only drawback is the distance from the sea and especially the public often included in the price.
