  • What a beautiful view of Scilla and the sparkling sea. So beautiful! Every amateur photographer takes his pleasure. In the premises of the Castle, there are interesting artefacts, including informing about the historical fishing.

  • Domina superbly Scylla and the Strait. Offers breathtaking views and lets you take dele pictures. Of course I wouldn't recommend a visit in summer (hot!) but any other season is fine

  • €2 well spent for the visit of a castle: as pointed out by others more for the view than for itself. In various parts of the Castle are positioned for binoculars to enjoy better the beauty of the landscape: some unfortunately didn't "work" just fine (a binocular has a glass "clouded", another does not rotate on your media that you're forced to look at a single direction). In the Hall tickets we found # 4 women as staff: perhaps a bit too much to be a weekday Monday?

  • Not a single parking spot in the whole city, you can drive around for an hour with no luck. The city and scenery here is very nice tho. Better get here by train.
  • Beautiful views of Scilla and sea. It's a little bit difficult to go there but the views recompense everything.

  • The entrance to the castle is two euros, a very small amount for a beautiful view. The castle itself looks a bit bare, excluding the Conference room and the exhibition hall there is more. I found though, very interesting exhibits. Every corner of the Castle offers a very nice view over the coast purple and on Sicily. To visit!

  • Perched on a granite cliff that juts out into the sea, the castle of ruffos of Scilla dominates the two bays of Marina Grande and Chianalea. On the rocky spur, which due to its strategic position it was fortified since the 5th century BC, were built between the 9th and 11th centuries a.d., the monastery and Church of Basilian fathers, that stood inside the Castle. The Manor, conquered by the Normans around 1060, then passed under the control of the Swabians, Angevins, then of the Aragonese; all confirmed to the monks the possession of the place, without modifying substantially the privileges. In 1424 the Basilian fathers departed from Scilla and the Castle passed from the 1533 under the supervision of Paolo Ruffo, was expanded and further fortified. The French occupied it in 1806, and a few decades later Garibaldi landed in Scilla with the expedition of the thousand, from rocca waved the tricolour. Impressive and well preserved the Castle fascinates for the extraordinary beauty of the staircase and entrance hall. Since the beginning of the last century is partly under the control of the Navy, and can be visited by appointment
