Scicli, Scicli

(4.8/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
Scicli is an ancient town dating back to the third millennium BCE, when it was founded by the Sicils. Today, you'll find it as it was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693--in the elegant Sicilian Baroque style. Stroll the narrow stony streets as they wind up and down sun-drenched hills, stopping to admire the stone gargoyles and numerous Baroque churches. Plan your visit to Scicli and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Scicli family vacation planner.

  • Scicli, what more do you want, a town to live every day with all the amenities, clean air without noises, why walk in 2 minutes makes you getting, you live with the people you meet, an ice cream, a pizza, a fried, else you can eat while walking, strolling through its streets, to fill the eyes, heart, lungs, mind, of good things simple and healthy, the movie set of various films, various film shoots, of various styles. By bike, a marvel, go a few kilometers of the sea makes, with 5 villages on the sea, a dream. least a nice week's holiday, even to visit the surroundings, where 10, 20, 30 km, you move from one country to another they too steeped in history and Baroque of Val di Noto. Do not return. :)

  • We enjoy the smaller towns and communities which provide a personal experience with those we connect. These cities recognize tourists but have less in the way of pandering to them such as the larger c...  more »
  • is a lovely place. An old town that you let go entirely on foot. Extraordinary buildings and churches, though, obviously there are some contradictions. One above all, not having completed the restoration of the Church of St Matthew, yet it is the symbol of the town. For the rest, a really lovely and pleasant, both day and night. For lovers of Inspector Montalbano, a place not to be missed. If you stay, we suggest you find a room in the old town.

  • The B abd b accomodation was spacious (Scicli B and b) and its owner Massimo very helpful and welcoming. You are left to your own devices with a gas stove table and utensils but breakfast was at a cafe just 5 minutes walk. The are a good many stne steps to negotiate for the b and b. Not for the feint hearted!
  • talking about this all fine, and the owner was very helpful, however I came across the room "unfortunate" with humidity and smell very small, tiny bathroom. Inform yourself well before you confirm.
