  • Originally it was built for defensive purposes, in the 14th century by the family of Fogliano, afterwards were the Boyar dal1423 at 1560 to take possession from which it takes its current name. It was at this time that the will of this family that some rooms were frescoed by Niccolò dell'Abbate with scenes from the Aeneid, subsequently transferred to Modena in Galleria Estense. Inside is the main staircase designed by Architect G. B. Abad. the grounds and stables have been restored and will soon open to the public. Currently used for exhibitions and conferences.

  • Rocca is located in the historical centre of the village of which recommend a visit for its beauty. Visited on a Sunday with a very friendly and prepared which explained all the vicissitudes and the various steps of property occurring during various centuries. Given that the rock has no furniture to his newly created and still has several areas that are not accessible due to renovations underway (completion of work not yet certain) that once will enrich the visit, definitely worth a visit from stately rooms to the dungeons. The visit is possible only with the Guide and the price of admission is quite laughable since the cost is only 3 euros per adult and for children the entrance is free. The entrance ticket is included also a visit to the birthplace of Lazzaro Spallanzani, noted scientist that scandiano gave birth.

  • A beautiful Bed without breakfast cooked, if one wants to can book a breakfast with packaged products. The rooms have all the kitchen and if one arranges itself can prepare meals and get the coffee. Definitely for families. Having to travel for work I used the kitchen, but the shower is large enough for my overweight.

  • Imposing symbol of the city that with its mass dominates Scandiano. Exhibits, shows and a bar. Unfortunately not always open, but worth a visit if only from the outside. Soon to be restored and usable indoor gardens.
