  • I was admired by this shrine with a beautiful ceiling and majestic statues. Definitely worth seeing and stop for a particular prayer. Nice!

  • Over time, the Saronno Sanctuary which stood outside the village, isolated, has been incorporated into the urban fabric. Recently the square was closed to traffic: you got the effect of enhancing the forecourt and façade of the Church in the eyes of visitors and citizens passing through daily. The 18th-century façade stone of Bramante-style dome that recalls Saltrio, Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, the campanile, the frescoes by Bernardino Luini which are located in the apse and in the main Chapel, frescoes by Gaudenzio Ferrari of the Dome (the famous choir of Angels) make the sanctuary of Saronno an important monumental and artistic complex of the Lombard Renaissance. The visitor reesterà struck for the sumptuousness of the works and decorations. During the visit it is worth devoting attention to the statues of the dome and the representation of the last supper (Cenacolo always contemporary wooden statues) in one of the chapels. There is a small Museum of sacred art attached to the sanctuary and the baptistery chapel where is a deposition of Christ by Pompeo Marchesi (masterpiece of the eighteenth century). No shortage of nearby shops and cafes. Recommended the cafe on the Avenue of the sanctuary, carved into the cotton mill's concierge Poss, last historical factory artifact.

  • It is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever visited. If you are believers the place is magical, dedicated to our lady that in the past would appear and would perform miracles. The statue stands behind the altar and to reach it you have to go through the chorus (done quite unusual). Around the area of the choir there are four wonderful frescoes DAO Luini who will not cease to admire and find out! Wonderful dome by Gaudenzio Ferrari barely visible from below because poorly lit. The rest of the Church is heavily decorated and painted. Beautiful all details as pews, benches and confessionals. Don't miss the cloister outside a splendid Lunette frescoed with a poetic Nativity. We organize guided tours during some Sundays, call for info. Attention also to the opening hours because during your lunch break is over.
