  • Inside the Villa Comunale di Sapri, stands the bronze statue by artist Cathy, erected in honor of Carlo Pisacane in the year 1933. Controversial figure of the Italian Risorgimento, Pisacane was a conspirator against the Bourbons who played one of the principal moments right in the landing at Sapri. The bronze turns its back to the sea and with the proud look is aimed towards the mountains, towards the battle which later saw him die.

  • In the villa comunale there is the monument to Carlo Pisacane, held up well. Sapri and Pisacane as we studied all have a special relationship and in August every year make a landing party of Carlo Pisacane, very nice and very impressive to see.

  • The statue was erected at the time of fascism in the current public garden of Sapri, surmounts a plinth with plaque and is an integral part of the urban landscape of Sapri.
