  • In the Centre of Santena lies this beautiful Palace, summer residence of the counts of Cavour. Still many original furnishings, paintings, books. It has an outstanding collection of international prizes awarded to Count Camillo Benso and his studio. A rich library of thousands of volumes is accessible to scholars. A compliment to the Foundation and its volunteers who, with passion and preparation, made accessible at this and accompanying visitors nice Park

  • Villa del 700 di Cavour situated in the Centre of Santena. In front of the villa there is a beautiful English-style park with secular trees of 250 years. I suggest a nice walk in the park where you can enjoy, besides the beautiful view of the villa, numerous squirrels climb trees. The summer villa of Cavour, was designed by the architect Francesco Gallo within which there are many rooms with stucco and paintings. You can visit the grave of Cavour and the library. The guide who drove us was very competent. I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful.

  • There is buried. There is a beautiful park with lots of trees. Everything is beautiful, the rooms, painted decorations. Need a guide and a lot of time.

  • Marc Lanteri al ristorante Al Castello di Grinzane. We ate here two nights in a row and had two very different experiences. On the first night the food and service was only average while on the second everything was pretty much perfect. I guess anyone can have a bad day at the office. Stand out dishes came from the primi section of the menu - gnocchi stuffed with buffalo mozzarella which came with scampi and red shrimp and a daily special of pasta stuffed with goats cheese topped with shaved black truffle. Try to make sure you leave some room for cheese - which is served before the dessert as it should be 😀. We shared a plate made up of 6 different local cheeses, in variety of styles, which was sublime. As you would expect the wine list reads like war and peace - all the big names and vintages along with some lesser known and more wallet friendly choices. My top tip to get the most out of the lovely dining room would be to request a table which has been set up to enable you to enjoy the stunning views (I found it surprising that lots of the tables are laid up so you have your back to the windows). Highly recommended (on a good night).
  • OK castle but there are many of these. There was a nice exposition on the influence of the original owner on viniculture in Italy. The objects in display where rather boring.
  • Nice panoramic view. Plenty of parking.
  • Great place, but was closed for dinner.
  • Very nice Castle, was the home of Cavour in the village where he was also Mayor. The restaurant serves delicious dishes very well presented, friendly and accurate service, excellent wine list, medium-high prices. Also of interest is the small museum. To visit
