Capo Testa, Santa Teresa Gallura

#1 of 180 in Wildlife in Sardinia
The protected beaches of Capo Testa are a magnet for swimmers. The rocky, granite peninsula, which is attached to Sardinia's mainland by an isthmus, is only about ten kilometers (6.2 miles) across. The Romans once used the small peninsula to mine the granite for their magnificent cities. The caves where the stone was quarried were last used as a source of building materials in the early 20th century. Pull on a pair of shoes with a strong grip and hike around the eroded rocks to admire the formations smoothed and shaped by the wind. • A backwater at the end of the island. To see really beautiful. Turquoise water. Really worth the visit

  • This stretch of coastline surrounded by gigantic granite rocks that take on the most weird and absurd forms, polished by the sea and carved by the wind, is always a spectacle, we never tire of visiting it and observe it. creep into narrow streets amid the gigantic rocks to arrive with difficulty up almost on the water, limpid and crystalline. Always worth a visit to this place of peace and tranquillity, so was yesterday, in the beautiful and warm October day ... ...

  • An amazing place. Lots of hiking trails along the beach or up to the hill. Beautiful view to Corsica only 1km away and very nice pub's and restaurants all around.
  • very nice place. not much parking spot in summer time though...and no real beach place so you should stop before if willing to have a swim. amazing spot though and crazy rock shapes !!!
  • Capo Testa - The very North-West point of Sardinia, Italy 🇮🇹. Nature on it's best. An area of giant rocks sliding into the sea. You just have to put your imagination in drive... and to find out any figure or animal you think about. Do not forget your hat!
  • Great place to have a view of the north of Sardinia. And you can see the Corsica too.
  • Amazing rock formations and a great view of the South Coast of Corse. Well worth the trip.
