  • Santa Maria di Leuca. Villa Santa Maria di Leuca. Santa Maria di Leuca Finibus Terra or ... On only the sea. This krajushek land krajushek Apennine boot, "spikes". This region is called Salento, in the southern region of Apulia or Puglia (Apulia), in Italian. Administrative-territorial division of LEUCA (briefly called this locality) belongs to the province of Lecce and fraction is (part of) the commune Castrignano del Capo. White City ... And color of buildings and cliffs corresponds to its name. The ancient Greeks approached the coast, saw the white cliffs and called this place white leukos. So read primary sources ... And, as if not changing and affirming, with respect to the famous historians of antiquity, Leuca surprises bright, sunny colours. Thanks, of course, and the local stone-karparo (carparo). Situated on the Bay between the two capes-Melisa and Ristolas-Leuca was a small fishing village and the second fate came so suddenly, as Columbus to America, changing history and transforming it into a Bohemian place. And it was in the 19 century. This coastline attracted aristocratic signor and fashion dictated, sometimes fantastic himernye, eccentric architectural structures. And then there was a boom in the coming decades, they arose. Of course, the first were built closer to the sea. But, on the contrary, the baths were constructed villas-private pomeshhenijas holes for sea water. Their style of sootvetsvoval architectural style of the Villa. In addition, the coast is indented by baths-pools, climbing frame, carved in stone. They are now empty and when the sea is choppy waves bathe in them, forming the foamy maelstrom. Here in Leuke, there is also a lighthouse. He is second in Italy on its significance and technical characteristics. ...

  • This summer, while on holiday in Puglia, we did stop in Santa Maria di Leuca. Traveling on the road on one side offer a view of the beautiful sea, on the other hand, intermittently, you see beautiful villas of the 19th century. Symbol of the wealth of these lands rich in history. It would be nice to be able to visit some of them, but apparently they are all private and closed to the public.

  • We went for a 2nd time in the South of the Italy specifically in Puglia. We stayed for a month and believe me it's beautiful. All is well, we lived in the city of Taviano and when we arrived it was a little cold like atmosphere but every day the inhabitants greeted us and were more kind. Value for money is exceptional, and I go back that's for sure. We had rented a beautiful house which helps to love the place. Santa Maria di Leuca is good it must be said that the heat was really strong but the great sea.

  • Altho mis-located on the google map, it's right on the coast, a splendid front porch overlooking the sea. But it's the hosts who make this B&B the jewel it is; both intelligent, kind, thoughful, with twinkles in the eyes. The place instantly feels like home: why would you ever want to leave? Free pass-worded wifi, parking across, and off the street; that street by the way is indeed Via Filzi, but extends down from the hillside and becomes the coast road at the front gate of this B&B. Place: 5-stars. Breakfast: over the top!
