  • We found the Ciolo Creek along the coastal SP358-Gagliano del Capo-Santa Maria di Leuca at about 10 km away from the last. We stopped because the bridge (Ciolo) connecting the two rocky shores, we caught a glimpse of a beautiful landscape. intrigued, we wandered down the stairs from the main road leading to the small beach inlet cement ... the scenery is wonderful. on the one hand, the towering rocks, across the sea and innumerable shades ... lucky us ... it was October, semi deserted Beach and a wonderful day ... relax ... we met some tourists who often frequent the place that they said in August there's a queue to access the beach ... There are many people who are waiting for their turn to be able to dive from the bridge of Ciolo ... In addition to this you can also reach across the sea to the cave of Ciolo ... or hike along the stairways of jagged rocks. This wonder has become part of the regional natural park Otranto-Santa Maria di Leuca-Bosco di Tricase.

  • Touring the South of the coast of Salento, the road leads you to a bridge which crosses high this unique the sea inlet in the field inviting you to make a stop along the way. If you are an expert jumper, the large existing unevenness between the bridge and the sea can save it doing a big Olympic break, as making very few regular jumpers in the area, but if it is not, it is more advisable to go quietly down the stairs that were carved into the stone along the cliff and enjoying the views. Once down, you can opt to enter the water from a small beach and go swimming until a marine cave either, if you feel able, we encourage you to a little bit by some rock climbing up to a reasonable height from which other amateur divers of the place jumping regularly and try to jump like them over the turquoise water that seems to be inviting you to this. There are days in which can find enough people jumping from different points and heights, but no doubt it more attractive is the environment of respect in them shifts of jump of each one, without pressures or rush, to avoid disturb or damage to others swimmers. Now simply the show worthwhile. But if at the end you decide to jump, it is essential to observe people who are to you around, introduce you to the rhythm of shifts that are throwing and do it only from points recommended by the people of the place, because the bottom is irregular and can be really dangerous. I would certainly do it.

  • Is a beach far less note than many others in the area, but it's really worth seeing: the view from the top (from rocks or from the street) is special, the sea is just beautiful. A few drawbacks: it is a rocky beach so a little uncomfortable for sunbathing and there are no shadows.
