  • The Garibaldi Theatre is commonly referred to as "the small San Carlo", and in fact you can breathe the same air inside of the most famous and important Neapolitan Theatre; stunningly hot, worth a visit or better yet, attend a good show!

  • The theatre was inaugurated on 12 April 1896 with the staging of "La forza del destino" by Giuseppe Verdi, conducted by maestro Vincenzo hail. The façade is definitely inspired by the Opera Garnier in Paris, looks at the base with a 1.50 metre high limestone plinth in petra on street level. The inputs are carried out via three entry doors and sides there are two niches where the plaster statues of Goldoni and Alfieri to symbolize the comedy and tragedy. The inputs were placed four medallions depicting Bellini, Rossini, Pergolesi and Cimarosa. On the first floor there are five balconies without protrusions with balustrade, closed by Windows and separated by Corinthian columns holding up the entablature: on it is the pediment in which appears the name of the theatre, and on either side you will see two arched Gables with reliefs in plaster. The room is shaped like a horseshoe with wooden floor slightly inclined towards the stage, is late neoclassical style. On the ceiling there is a painting by Gaetano Esposito depicting "the apotheosis of poetry" or Torquato Tasso coming out of the Temple of the muses. The audience, which has 150 seats, is surrounded by 42 stages, arranged in three tiers. To them must be added the gallery which occupies the entire fourth order.

  • The back, the stairs to enter the dressing room and dressing rooms themselves are falling apart. Some emergency doors are closed due to danger of collapse. Remains Theatre Cardozo nicer but if it is not fixed will have long life.
