  • Absolutely worth visiting along with the Museum, well maintained, underground almost intact, certainly a great work of another era, maybe little noticed. And to think that is a little less of the Colosseum. Famous why tied to Spartacus, though the old arena was in a nearby location, not the current one.

  • A place where you can feel the history and the visionary courage of a slave who dreamed of freedom by challenging one of the most powerful of all time. Beyond this the reginae viarum, the Appian way, and the Temple of the God Mithra intact as more than 2,000 years ago, all somewhat underrated and unappreciated for his immense value

  • Large Amphitheater dating from the second century AD (the arena measure Mt. 165 x 135 mt.) proof of the great importance that the ancient Capua (now Santa Maria Capua Vetere) was at the time of ancient Rome. Was the site of a crucial gladiatorial school and saw the exploits of the legendary Spartacus. Now, unfortunately, of all the part on the surface there are only a few, however, remains that make only a part of the idea of the grandeur and Majesty of the original work. The lack of imagination overcomes a detailed model built in small muzzles of the gladiators in the adjacent area. Best preserved is the underground part where they are is still intact and viable the cobweb of halls for various services. The general feeling is of a certain carelessness although an organic restaurant built in large adjoining Park makes it a little more comfortable. Easily accessible it is still worthy of being visited.

  • Authentic and uncluttered. Amazing access to all parts of a 2000 year old anfitheatre.
  • Amazing roman place, a must to see historical site very well conserved
  • Not crowded easy to get around.
  • Amazing organic and vegetarian cafe!
  • A truly an unknown place that deserve much more attention and visits. If anybody plan a trip in South Italy this is a place that must be seen
