  • For a paltry sum I bought last year a house in the old town of Nardò. It is a city, not a country. Its main square has been called the most beautiful baroque square in southern Italy, and the rest is not far behind. Seven kilometres away is the sea or rather its marine, because from North to South there are: Sant'Isidoro, Porto Selvaggio, Santa Caterina and Santa Maria al Bagno, totaling approximately 25 km of coastline. We go to Santa Maria, whose small town, surrounded by Art Nouveau buildings, describes a perfect arc of sand in a sea boundary with incredible tonality, always clear and always calm, saw that was once used by the Romans as a safe haven. in the distance, a 10 km as the Crow, Gallipoli seem suspended over the sea. Here, however, you won't find the nightlife of Gallipoli, but a proper balance of natural beauty, artistic, historical attractions and tourism very selective in the right sense of the word, not exclusive but much quieter than other places of Salento now MEPs youth entertainment or to mass tourism. There are the endless beaches that attract swarms of small families, there are the dimensions. It's all very relaxed, 60 years I would say. Sorry, I don't know a better definition of the place, I say just go for it, maybe you will find place, but only to complete the visit of nardo, that alone is worth the cost of the trip.

  • I was literally speechless when, as in this Cove in the country, I thought I'd find a marina with boats and instead I saw a sandy beach with a water so blue and clear that you wouldn't believe at all to find a settlement. The beach is small, therefore, go early in the summer months. Half free and the other half is occupied by a beach; above there is a little square with bars and restaurants. I mean, one of the most beautiful coves of Salento.
