  • I would like to have bought a book for this church but the available books were in a closed case and no one was there to purchase one from.
  • Built in 1658 on a place of worship of the 13th century, is located in an elegant square in the pedestrian area close to the sea, this beautiful Basilica consecrated in 1770 and awarded the title of Basilica by Pope Pius XII in 1951. In Baroque style, with a Latin cross plan, divided into three naves, this Basilica very collection that invites contemplation, is rich in frescoes of 1800 with martyrdom and glory of Santa Margherita, while in the vaults of the central nave, depicts the joyful mysteries. The cult of our Lady of the rose, of medieval origin, is found in the wooden group, dated early 1300, placed on the high altar, with the Virgin Mary and the infant Jesus holding a rose. Leaving the square, adorned with geometric figures in polychrome stones, you can walk in the pedestrian area and enjoy the many specialty shops and bars.
