  • We attend the Val Gardena for many years and each year we attend this retreat that offers a splendid views of the mountains that surround it. This hut is the starting point for many tours including Railroad leading to the Sass Rigais and the path skirting the Geisler group leads to the beautiful and characteristic Baita Pieralongia. The Firenze hut is easily accessible from Col Raiser gondola from which is about 30 minutes walk.

  • The head of Val Cisles, stands the Great retreat just beyond 2000 metres, fantastic scenery, with Alp at the back and at the end of the Valley the Odle group. It's a safe house CAI, capacious, with a beautiful and curious Sundial near the fence, great stop whether risaliate val Cisles from Santa Cristina, whether they come from the Col Raiser and Seceda Ortisei away. I think it's also the shelter that typically have the most affordable prices for an overnight stop for refreshment in the restaurant; platter of cold meats and cheeses, beer and pastries at prices much cheaper than whole Alpe Cisles, all in a rustic but very personable, service included. Another must see for those who are in Val Gardena.

  • It is truly amazing that these mountain "huts" are such great restaurants. Highly recommend the veggie pasta, hot mulled wine and of course, the apple strudel!  more »
