  • Arriving at Sant'Omobono we note at the top between the Woods, a detached building; the signs lead us on tight curves leading to the sanctuary; a short walk from the parking lot and we discover that the shrine is actually made from inside a huge cave in the rocks (Papa Roncalli said it was built by the hand of God); history, faith and miracles intersect in this place where the water drops by time; recollection, peace and then exit the great view over the deep valley.

  • Strikingly beautiful: the church stands in a natural cave, which has been expanded and adapted for use as a place of worship. I go there occasionally as a child: you can reach the shrine on foot, along a path that winds through the Woods, or by car. Inside the cave, but especially in the Museum housed in the building where you will find bars and restaurant, you can admire a beautiful collection of votive offerings, some of which are ancient as well as the room that hosted Pope John Paul XXIII, very devoted to our Lady della Cornabusa.

  • The sanctuary can be reached by car or with the griefs of Mary 7 trail running through the Woods. The ascent is quite steep but doable and lasts about 30 minutes. The shrine carved into the rock is fascinating. Inside the building there is a very interesting Museum explaining the history of the shrine and Madonna della Cornabusa. From the panoramic terrace you can admire a beautiful landscape of the Valley. I recommend a visit.

  • Definitely deserves a visit ... sanctuary in a cave where religious services are held. Advice, for those who have good legs, trail or via crucis that starts from the first bend above the restaurant.

  • Definitely worth visiting if you're in the Valley. The sanctuary is spread in a cave with a nave and altar where masses are held regularly during the summer, the cave extends in length to about sixty metres looking out at the end on a tub of water that flows from the bottom, where the cave is further develops in different rooms but becomes accessible only to cavers, arriving to a trap where cave diving have forwarded discovering across a cave as big as that of the sanctuary. The resort Roncaglia you can walk along a dirt road that climbs to the shrine that in addition to enjoy the view of the Valley passes in front of various chapels of the via crucis. In addition to the shrine is also a gift shop on the ground floor, a bar/restaurant on the first floor wheelchair accessible via elevator, third floor one can visit the museo della corna busa which displays various relics even of some antiquity back to sanctuary.
