  • Town in the province of Salerno, whose district lies partly in the regional park of the Lattari Mountains and the Agro nocerino sarnese. To see and admire, traces of settlement for a villa rustica of the 2nd century BC Roman marble block belong to depictions of the God Sarno, used in "Fountain of Saint Nicholas" or "source Helvius". God appears on different sides of the block, referring to the River at the source and at the mouth. The fountain is fed by an aqueduct, built in the same era, consisting of a conduit along several hundred metres. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage. Interesting monuments and landmarks: Abbazia di Santa Maria Maddalena in Armillis, an ancient Benedictine monastery. Roman aqueduct of Sant'Egidio, even today, fed from different sources – water fountain provides Helvius. Torre di Chiunzi is located 700 m above sea level, was built as a defence tower. Church of San Lorenzo and San Dau Martyrs, stands on a churchyard, in open country. Church of Saint Anthony of Padua, Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie Church ruins of Sant'Angelo, Palazzo Ferrajoli of Chapel, adjacent to the chapel of s. Maria delle Grazie, Abbey Palace, Palazzo di Capo Casale. Remember: Party Medieval-Renaissance "courtyards of history" is organized by Pro Loco every year on the third Saturday and third Sunday of September in the town's historical centre.
