  • After a "hike" risky heartstream (via Palazzo going up the Pigna) here we are one of the main churches of San Remo, a sanctuary of Marian devotion arose around the XIV-XV century. The building is being traced, according to legend, the ' liberation ' of the Castrum Sancti Romuli (ancient Sanremo) the sale by the Doria in Genoa. for this event, celebrating the Festival of San Remo Chains by going over the shrine, which is located on a hillock higher than at sea level. In Baroque style, the sanctuary, as well as currently visible, was built (or rebuilt) in the first three decades of the 1600, externally is dominated by the beautiful Baroque façade with depictions of the Virgin Assunta, San Siro and San Romolo, while the Interior has a Latin cross structure with its many statues to religious theme. Worthy of a visit.
