Old Bussana (Bussana Vecchia), Sanremo

(4.3/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
A former ghost town, Old Bussana (Bussana Vecchia) has hosted an artist community since the early 1960s. The 1887 earthquake that caused the abandonment was the first recorded by a true seismograph. The hippies who moved in 70 years later have been served ineffective eviction orders on more than one occasion. The list of current artists names more than 20. Plan your route to arrival carefully as it can be difficult to find. If you don’t have a car, be aware of the 3 km (1.9 mi) uphill hike. You may find that here there is little distinction between a for-pay restaurant and an invitation to dine in someone’s home, which perhaps has a donation box hanging on the door. • A very interesting ride. All uphill and the road already and already ... already do not know how to turn. Magnificent views over the Gorge and Sanremo. At the bottom in attempts to attract tourists with little artistic craft. Above devastation. The fate of the city has not yet been resolved. It was 70-80 years ago an earthquake, and stood still. ..

  • Quaint and pretty medieval village. Bussana Vecchia Sanremo can be reached by approximately 15/20 minutes, the road winds through hairpin curves and hills and you should consider a browser if you are not on the site and/or practical. Does not have parking lots, because the village you visit entirely on foot. Here time seems to have stopped, alleys and narrow streets, corners and shops of artists. The atmosphere is different and almost magical. It was really an unexpected visit and Nice, and the view is breathtaking. I was really impressed.

  • Visit the village of Bussana means discovering a small universe perched between the mountains of Liguria. Destroyed by an earthquake and left abandoned for decades, in the 1970s he was elected by a group of artiosti who appear occupied the riduri and have them brought back to life. Today it is a quaint community of artists and craftsmen and in every corner exudes a magical and unrepeatable. They say it risks being closed and vacated for bureaucratic reasons. It would be a shame because it is one of the most interesting experiment currently in circulation in our country. Not to be missed!
