Old Bussana (Bussana Vecchia), Sanremo

4.3
#1 of 12 in Sightseeing in Sanremo
Ruin Tourist Spot
A former ghost town, Old Bussana (Bussana Vecchia) has hosted an artist community since the early 1960s. The 1887 earthquake that caused the abandonment was the first recorded by a true seismograph. The hippies who moved in 70 years later have been served ineffective eviction orders on more than one occasion. The list of current artists names more than 20. Plan your route to arrival carefully as it can be difficult to find. If you don’t have a car, be aware of the 3 km (1.9 mi) uphill hike. You may find that here there is little distinction between a for-pay restaurant and an invitation to dine in someone’s home, which perhaps has a donation box hanging on the door. • Lovely place with a fascinating history. Every year we're in Sanremo there we step because it gets it right!.

  • The trip from the Centre of San Remo drive, took 20 minutes. Have parked in the 3-5 minutes from the old town, near the great wall (as it turned out the cemetery with family sklepami). Old Bussana itself is very interesting, but, in my opinion, hippies, who live there, change it. Open all sorts of galleries, shops, cafes. The old streets are cool pictures. A one-time trip. But it is worth to go there.

  • A country behind Sanremo destroyed by an earthquake in 1887, remained for many years in rubble, but reborn in the late ' 50 thanks to artists who have settled without ruining the landscape and its suggestiveness. The typical houses leaning against one another, the two churches with the ceiling collapsed and typical Ligurian village lanes, alleyways, instill a sense of the past spent by these residents shaken by the habits of everyday life made of hard work and hardship to work the grudging Earth. It is really advisable a visit (just a couple of kilometers from the via Aurelia) pausing then to taste a piece of "sardenaira" in a bar in the village.

  • Wonderful place! Awesome location! Great food and right (cheap) prices! Will come back!
  • Great good, atmosphere and an unforgettable experience...
  • Lovely, kitchen and view! Few veg options as well.
  • Very tasty BBQ. Try Wagyu Kobe steak - delicious! Beautiful location with a stunning panoramic view.
  • Packed 4 adults and 4 children. First disappointment there are child portions. We order the Kobe meat type 1 (should be very tender) and we are told that the portion is about 250 g. Arriving 4 bits (will have been 150 gr) stews and hard: €18 price. No deck is the outline. You pay 1 baked potato €5. The ribs were number 2. Arrosticini overcooked: buckets buckets. To season the entire service: 40 minute wait and dishes arrive all at different times. I understand that the meat has different cooking times but 35 minutes for a hamburger are far too long. Beautiful view of the Valley but outside tables in the street (literally, then the machines you pass by and although there are few unpleasant). Shame really.
