  • The Cathedral of San Siro is the main Catholic Church of San Remo. It was built according to local traditions and historical sources, the year 811, the place where Syrian bishop celebrated mass several times, and in which he was buried San Romolo di Genova. The Church, limestone stone, was built on the ruins of an early Christian and Romanesque church pieve, original remained the central rose window and part of the lateral mullioned Windows. The building, initially Romanesque-Gothic style, was expanded in the first half of the XII century but suffered in later centuries various damage caused by acts of war, as well as in the second half of 1700, when the Bell Tower was felled by the Genoese as punishment for the rebellion. Was modified then second Baroque taste, but luckily our, restored to its original Romanesque structure at the beginning of the twentieth century. To see

  • Bella, da vedere
  • Friendly but sober ... Unfortunately I find it often closed ... in time for lunch. Even the Lord's House should be always open to allow workers to go there to find a moment of peace.

  • The oldest religious building in Sanremo (12th century) and prime example of Romanesque architecture in western Liguria.
