  • Tarkovsky has immortalized this small village and me, everytime (past 30 years), I am always dazzled by so much poetry. This time I set the alarm and I came to see the break of day.

  • If you're in val d'Orcia can't not go to see the beautiful square of Bagno Vignoni ... a beautiful place!

  • This romantic square stands at the center of the town of San Quirico d'Orcia, Bagno Vignoni, and is occupied mainly by a large rectangular tank, of sixteenth-century origin, which contains a source of hot and steaming thermal water that comes from the underground aquifer of volcanic origins. As demonstrated by many archaeological, the thermal baths of Bagno Vignoni was attended by eminent personalities such as Lorenzo de ' Medici, Pope Pius II, Catherine of Siena (in the small church there is a picture with Santa who blesses the bathroom) and many other notable figures, but also by a number of artists that chose the village as their home town. Still today the baths are functioning (but the tub will not work) and even today many tourists visit this wonderful village.
