  • many steps to do, but it's worth a journey in history but with a spectacular view from above

  • Site well maintained, good care both of the exterior and very neat and easy to read throughout the rest of the structure. We start with access to the Tower; Now you are greeted by the statues of the protagonists of the unification of Italy. On the left just past the entrance there is a display of weapons used in the war at the time. On the right is involved with the passing of the names of soldiers who died in battle. A ramp gives you the possibility to reach the large terrace where you can enjoy a wide view. Along the way, several rooms and various frescoes covering the episodes of the Risorgimento and wars. The Museum is filled with memorabilia feats of arms, documents, banners, tools used, letters from soldiers, all proclamations about the war. The nearby ossuary collects the bones of thousands of fallen soldiers. A place that deserves to be visited

  • If you are ever in the area of Sirmione, it is certainly worth visiting this Renaissance Tower erected to honor the memory of King Vittorio Emanuele II and all victims who fought for the unification of Italy in the countryside from 1848 to 1870. 64 metres high tower, stands on the highest hill of San Martino in the middle of a park and dominates the whole valley which can be seen going up easily on top. The base has a tapered cylindrical drum crowned with battlements and measure mm 22.80 meters in diameter and 19.80 meters tall. From this drum is the female of the tower which is also tapered cylindrical and 13 meters in diameter at the bottom and 11.40 above. With the medallions which support the battlements the Tower back then to widen so that the diameter of the terrace is mt. 13.90. The path starting from the entrance hall dominated by the statue of Victor Mimis. At the top of the tower to the upper deck is decorated with bronze statues and precious frescoes that recall facts and protagonists of the Risorgimento. At the top of the tower stands a large beacon in the night radiates the colors of the Italian flag.

  • Nothing special
  • Historical place in Italian history. Where war fought for independence seeing collide the Austrian army with the Franco-Sardinian. Ossuary and tour. Nice to visit the tower. If good weather you can see much of the lago di Garda sud. Easily accessible and with a restaurant next door. A good picnic. Also, about 10 minutes by car, the town of Silferino, closely related to San Marino the battle for history.

  • If you are in the area place not to be missed. 74 meters high (and scale😥) but it's worth it all. Beautiful interior. History of the battle (told in the frescos) very interesting.
