We were there during the night of the shooting stars and got excited. We have observed with telescope Saturn and it was a great feeling. You've seen the planet with its rings and for us it was the first time that osservevamo a planet so closely. Then we were outside the building to watch the shooting stars and they explained the constellations on the summer sky. A good experience to do!

Nice visit, very good the rapporteur to explain everything (solar system, comets, asteroids, and the activity of discovery and study conducted by the Association) in a clear and attractive: a large illustration with clips and pics; the presence of a school class made the visit even more lively; It was great fun to listen to the questions and speeches of children. We had a chance to look at the Sun (and see a sunspot); It was exciting! After the visit we walked around, going up to a comfortable white road (closed to cars); You can climb to a vantage point where picnicking, looking, dreaming, listening to the wind. Only regret not having had the opportunity, living a bit far to come here in the evening, to contemplate the starry sky, wholeheartedly hope to return.

First you have to book at the library of San Marcello Pistoiese, as places are limited. The cost is €5.00 per person. With the navigation system is really easy to find the Observatory, otherwise there are signs on the road that you indicate. The Observatory was opened in 1990 by Margherita Hack and in 1995 she was an asteroid discovered by the Centre. It starts in the Conference room with the person involved explaining the basai of astronomy. Very simple to understand. I open a parenthesis to advise managers of the Observatory to do children's parties and evenings to adults only, since children in attendance (some really small, 3/4 years) were making noise (parents they rebuked them) and the person having the MIC hardly felt. After they took us outside and with a telescope "portable" they would show Jupiter. Second stop on the dome of the Observatory. They explained the operation and through telescope from 60 cm made us see Saturn and its rings. Finally, always on the outside they directed the constellations visible. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and explained in an easy to understand at all what they were explaining. A unique experience that I recommend to all lovers of astronomy and not.
