  • I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the places visited and the Silk Museum, placed where it was actually produced, full of various machinery and looms, some faithfully reconstructed more authentic. The village seems to have been conceived around and serving this extraordinary activity which shows up, or rather unveiled, in all phases of production from silkworm breeding up to obtaining the precious fabrics, famous already in ' 700 worldwide. The factory, now a Museum, is found inside the Palace of King Ferdinand of Bourbon who, along with gardens, is included in the visit.

  • We were to visit the story of San Leucio and you cannot but think about the sin of neglect and decay present. It would take greater effort on the part of agencies. Very comprehensive guide and prepared.

  • I visited the Museum of San Leucio Silk after reading some news on the internet. The visit can only be accompanied by a local guide. The cost of entry is six euros with reduction for students, teachers and ultra sixty. For driving we paid 1 Euro, but I think the cost go divided among the people there. We were more than a dozen. Very good guide that explained the history of the building and then escorted us to visit explaining the silk from the silkworm breeding to production of Brocade and jacard. Interesting eighteenth-century machines. The thing that struck me most and that the Guide explained very well was the story of the closed community of San leucio where workers had equal rights between women and men, the same career opportunities. We are talking about 1700, got married when the wife/husband without impèosizioni of parents/masters, if marriage were entitled to a House with water currents and during the period of weaning of children the women worked at home (forerunners of the part-time). At the factory there was "the nursery" and schools for children
