  • Very interesting Museum which tells of historic Bourbon silk production, which has been exported to all European courts real and that was the pride of the Royal House of Bourbon in the eighteenth century. Access to certain parts of the complex are in a State of disrepair and hope to see them clean up is great. Do not miss visiting rich and full of bright surprises.

  • Think of seeing only the Palace of Caserta and not San Leucio silk factory and, in particular, is very wrong. Fascinating and interesting.

  • Visit on Sunday 16/7/2017. Visiting the Royal Palace of Caserta we have collected material on what to see and do around and the first attraction that there appeared now interesting is this museum. Before you even get in we noticed the presence in the area of EC activities refer to the tradition of silk production and weaving in General. You can say that somehow the territory is still tied to tradition. Note before you even enter the structure and layout of the area, on which then, entering and following the Guide's explanations, he understands the significance and importance. Visits are organised in such a way as to form groups of people that are followed by an operator that illustrates each step in the silk and weaving, leading visitors through the main rooms of the Museum. Explanations are accompanied by an appropriate historical and social. The whole thing is very interesting, well laid out, the Museum and the rooms all well catered for. Houses the equipment useful to the cycle of silk processing (starting from cultivation of the bug), to follow those relating to preparation of the row, and the frames of various ages, including those with the "jacquard". From some of the rooms you can enjoy a wonderful panorama on the Esplanade of caserta. Some negative aspects of the visit are the fact that I think you need more time, perhaps to be devoted specifically to the residence, because often there's attention was focused on silk, when the architectural part is equally interesting. Secondly it shows only part of the complex, which surely deserves more attention. I was really sorry to see that around there are related to all who are in a State of neglect, in addition to having to see around the hills, fire signs, other than those bright and clearly visible on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. As usual, you have to repeat to ourselves that we have many pearls that we make. The staff informed me that the municipality has under consideration of options involve some complex management tried expanding the tourist offer. I hope that this will happen, maybe in full respect of the place keeping it intact.
