  • One of the many towers of San Gimignano. Unique buildings lost in the mountains. A place not to be missed.

  • If you are in good physical shape, I think, that should definitely will rise on this ancient tower and enjoy the views of the Tuscan countryside. Note-a lot of stairs, passageways are narrow enough.

  • The central Piazza del Duomo stands the Town Hall, one of the most interesting monuments in San Gimignano, built between 1289 and 1298. Access from the courtyard is painted with emblems of characters who had held public office, the building was used as the residence of the Podestà, for both Board meetings public. The town hall leads to the Large Tower, the highest in the city, 54 metres, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the city and the surrounding area; the Tower along with the twin towers are the only visitable. In the time of our visit, down the stairs and rooms in the Tower, we admired a beautiful exhibition of contemporary art of Imran Quereshi.

  • Beautiful city! Has 52 towers! Of witch I saw 12 maybe
  • Incredible 360° views of the city and countryside. Worth the ticket price and provides unique glimpse into these early medieval tower dwellings of the rich. Some well preserved art on the lower floors including two Filippino Lippi paintings
  • Beautiful panorama from there. Pricey but worth the climb
  • If you had enough time to do one thing only in San Gimignano then climbing the Torre Grossa is it. It's the tallest of the historic towns towers and offers panoramic views of not just the town but the hills around it.
  • Great views of the surrounding area at a reasonable price to go up the tower!
