San Gimignano Bell Tower, San Gimignano

(4.8/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
Built by the city's powerful patrician families in the age of feudalism, San Gimignano Bell Tower is a reminder of a once-ubiquitous architectural trend. Admire at the 14 different towers still in existence, the tallest of which stands 54 m (177 ft) high. At one point, 72 of these study stone structures accentuated the town's skyline. Climb more than 250 steps to the top of the Torre Grossa for views of the other towers and the Tuscan countryside. • The city of san girminiano is a medieval city that was famous for its towers. In the old days were 72 but remained 12 if I'm not mistaken. At that time, Rico was who had the highest Tower. Yes, they lived in towers! Very interesting to visit them because you're thinking "imagine going up and down that tower every day?" Kkkk
