  • Before returning home, we strolled through the streets of Saint Vincent, with shops open late, where we buy when we are always passing genepy. Then, having lain open for religious functions post/season, we revisited again the Romanesque church of San Vincenzo. Romanica so to speak, because of the 11th century, the time of its founding by the Benedictines, remained very little, after successive modifications, However, the Church preserves valuable works, though of later periods. The crypt is a gem, with fine capitals dating from the 7th century, much to suggest that they could be remains of a noble building, pre-existent, being the Church was erected later. The Bell Tower, part of which dates back to the 12th and some frescoes in the apse-the Church is a sacred Museum, whose treasure includes pieces of religious art of great rarity and significance.
