  • Like all good things once!! That's right: once upon a time the BORSACCHIO (60 years ' so to speak and that I was lucky enough to be able to appreciate) with its limited but clear rain water which by curious zigzag poured the sea; with the expansive reeds (canniole in local dialect); with its dunes of fine sand and its "bluppicci" scattered in rigorous disarray on beaches adjacent to Rio (local and other terminology that refers to the material arborifero, fruit of the spill at sea winter/spring flood flood). That .... Poetry! Today, unfortunately, is no longer the case and in some coastal areas the havoc of "modern things" is the master. Luckily, few stop to wild building the set itself a few years ago with the establishment of a regional law which protects this interesting area and preserves the natural way what he has managed so far to save!! Maybe would be better preserved (too often you can see various kinds of plastics, glass, paper), more guarded by some local Naturalist Organization perhaps with gazebo during the summer for info. tourists who come here; better to bordered/reported with explanatory panels. But the respect there is still the "Indeterminacy" by the institutions (who should do what: region-Municipality-environmental organizations??) to take off once and for all that interesting fact. I would like to emphasize the presence of SNOWY PLOVER nests around here in the spring that unabated despite everything and everyone (including Camping): it's the revenge of nature on the devastation of man! Even for these Easter holidays, as usual, I took long walks on the beaches of the area, trying to "review" the mind what it was and now there is no more. Who knows what will happen in the future of this reserve: will remain as it is today ... or will still be mistreated by men? Let us not miss this little flap "wild" from the Abruzzo-tadbeer we have left! Those lucky enough to come around here, don't let yourself miss the opportunity to stand/walk for areas of the reserve of BORSACCHIO and enjoy a bit of the poetry of Rio that was!!

  • The nature reserve is a little piece of nature, remained untouched by the touch of the human race, where you can walk along the shore early in the morning, and enjoy the natural colors and peace that this place, is able to transmit.

  • It's a sliver of sand, pine forest and sea to attend in seasons less traveled, to appreciate even more the silence and peace, away from concrete, shores and automobiles.
