  • We started in the Jewish Getto and ended in the historic part of Rome with food, wine and history. Our guide was very knowledgable and fun. Her parents were on the tour with us. We ate artichokes in t...  more »
  • We were greeted enthusiastically by our tour guide Marloes at the Meetingpoint in the Jewish quarter of Rome where the first restaurant was served to enjoy the first course with delicious appetizers. About the history of habits and customs and method of preparation, we were drawn into the culture of Italian food in an engaging way. Appropriate wines did not fail at the three courses at different locations in the centre. In the fourth and final location, Marloes offered us the delicious gelato ice cream. It was very cozy and engaging with her as a guide. Chapeau! Marloes

  • We loved our trip to Orvieto! It was definitely a highlight of our trip in Italy. Marlous was really friendly and spending the day with her as our tour guide made the trip really fun.
  • This is nothing like a 'if you look to your right, you see nothing on your left' kind of tour. It's quality over quantity. ViniCultural Tours offers amazing small group or private tours for those who, like me, are as passionate about the Italian food and wine culture and its history as the Italians themselves. Though their tours are not limited to just that: they offer Italian beer tours and customized tours too, for example. I can highly recommend ViniCultural Tours to everybody, it will most definitely add that little something extra to your stay in Italy!
  • Fantastic tour, took us through MANY bottles of wine (healthy pours, not like some tours), from prosecco and champagne all the way through the whites and reds to the aperitivo after. Wonderful, learned so much about wines and pairings, and went to some great, local (I.e. Hard to find on your own) restaurants - all within short walking distance of each other. Really, really well done.
  • We took the Craft Beer tour in March 2016 - apparently it was the first tour of the season, lucky us! We started off in a local store sampling a selection of craft beers from Italian breweries - the store itself is pretty impressive. Home brewing is apparently a popular hobby in Rome! Our guide talked us through tasting each beer and explained the techniques and ingredients that go into producing each style of beer. After this the tour moved on to a couple of different bars/restaurants to explore pairing different styles of beer with local food and sample a wide variety of Italian beers. I can't recommend the tour highly enough - we would love to be able to find something like this in every city that we visit! Huge thanks to our tour guide - this was the first thing we did immediately after arriving in Rome and it really set a great tone for the whole trip.
  • I have been to many wine tours. I have toured wineries from Niagara-On-The-Lake, to Napa, to Geneva & Sandusky, OH for many years. I thought that this would be about the same. You know, "Here are our barrels and our bottling area. Did you know that the oak barrels add that coffee/butter flavor to your wine? We harvest in September/October." Not with John's Roman Hills Wine Tour. Since he is a Sommelier, we gained invaluable knowledge of the wines that John introduced us to during the Tour. I learned on this Tour. That is the most important thing to always do, is to keep learning. We went to Rome, Florence, and Venice for our Trip to Italy, but my favorite part of our Trip was this Tour. We even went on a Chianti Wine Tour in Tuscany. It did not even compare to John's Roman Hills Wine Tour. I found a new wine that I love - Cesanese! Thank you John.
