Viminale, Rome

2.7
#5 of 7 in Nature in Rome
The Viminal Hill is the smallest of the famous Seven Hills of Rome. A finger-shape cusp pointing toward central Rome between the Quirinal Hill to the northwest and the Esquiline Hill to the southeast, it is home to the Teatro dell'Opera and the Termini Railway Station. At the top of Viminal Hill there is the palace of Viminale that hosts the headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior; currently the term Il Viminale means the Ministry of the Interior.According to Livy, the hill first became part of the city of Rome, along with the Quirinal Hill, during the reign of Servius Tullius, Rome' sixth king, in the 6th century BC.

  • Is passed in when you go to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore via Nazionale. Fashionable square is a little elevated.

  • Guided tour booked online, we are immersed in this experience with the help of a voluntary guide extremely prepared that made us 2 and a half hours really interesting telling us slices of Italian history. An experience that every Italian should do.

  • I had no idea where it was located in this building that we often hear mention on the news because I hadn't passed in this area of Rome. Found by chance as the bed and breakfast where I was staying right in via del Viminale. It's not a place open to the public.

  • One of the best lunch choices we’ve made in Rome! Delicious comfort food, traditional Italian cooking with all the goodness of a home cooked meal! Food came really fast as well, no long waits! The service staff was friendly and helped us in English. The other staff were always smiling and happy. We saw many locals at the place and probably most were regulars based on the conversations! Loved the excellent Pork Chops, Grilled Chicken and Spaghetti Vongole. Also they were kind enough to give us a special request of Clams! Wonderfully done and the giant size spinach ricotta ravioli was just awesome! ❤️❤️❤️Very reasonable prices, bill for so much food came up go be only €62 We even had a cuppa! Very clean toilets as well! Great service!
  • Nice restaurant, appears family run. Fettuccine Bolognese was nice. Wish there was music or something playing to break silence besides the TV. FYI: the beer on the menu is a 660 mL peroni.
  • Probably pretty local since the staff barely speaks English. Their lasagna is great and the portion size similar to what a Nonna would feed you.
  • We got pasta to take away, huge portions and great taste
  • excellent bruschetta, pasta and all service. Very nice place and friendly staff. Excellent and fantastic tiramisu, panacota normal. Nice vine, friendly prices
