  • Precious visit for lovers of liberty. It was used as a laboratory for the sculptor's works. The interiors are enriched with frescoes and artifiments in the Art Nouveau style perfectly restored. Recommended.

  • The Villino, the residence and study of the sculptor Ettore Ximenes, an illustrious artist of the period between the 19th and 20th centuries, is one of the most important testimonies of the Italian Liberty, built on the design of the same owner and decorated in a refined way, both interiors as far as architectural details are concerned. After suffering unfortunate vicissitudes and the alteration of its floor plan to obtain a student that survives to this day, miraculously preserves after more than a hundred years much of its original appearance. The rare access is only allowed during guided tours agreed with the Teresian Institution that manages it.

  • Undoubtedly one of the most successful examples of Art Nouveau architecture visible in Rome, not grandiloquent but magnificent Meanwhile for its facade with the Central fresco and marbles that sparkle in the Sun, where the building is favorably exposed. The monumental building houses a university residence "the Teresian Institute", so in addition to the guided tours can be accessed with ease, admiring their special achievements but also its conservation status not optimal Despite the restoration of the facades finished in 1999. Makes it easy to argue that taking such as Italian art nouveau villa has nothing to envy to the accomplishments of the French art nouveau. Unfortunately, because of its location, the beautiful piazza Galeno, where it ranks as its architectural gem, but that results of rapid transit for vehicles, is very little known and visited. Was completed with projects of the famous Ernesto Basile, in the early 1900s for the Sicilian sculptor Ximenes, who inspired the project directly and decoration, not neglecting the choice of tufa bruno very stylish and unusual for Rome used in the statement (example of combination of architecture, painting and sculpture). On the façade over the fresco of the madonna and child, marble decorations and majolica, a curious item you note just watching him from a distance, are the four Roosters in marble which support wind indicators, with the inscription RUIT HORA ("don't bother trying,). Very famous, justly its frescoed rooms full of furniture and furniture, as the ballroom and the beautiful dining room completely covered with leather and fillers with all the original furniture, wooden paneling, wall paintings, glass and fake gold. Not to be missed. Cultural efforts, however praiseworthy of the teresians, who in addition to facilitating the tours make efforts to enhance the use of the monument with cultural activities, such as meetings, conferences and exhibitions in the meeting room that can accommodate a hundred people.

  • Art Nouveau style, fairy-tale frescoes, inlaid leather, finely crafted emery glass and much more. Definitely worth seeing. Only flaw: It is allowed to take pictures (and they will be a beautiful memory), but only for personal use, not "social". But, perhaps, it is not a flaw: in this time when everything is "social", a reminder that there can still be something to share in words "true", not by dint of chat or Instagram, has a great value.

  • Transformed by the next owners into a university pensioner, he keeps the testimonies of the ancient splendour in the small part of the visitable part. Interesting Art Nouveau testimony in Rome.

  • Very interesting visit of the Archeoguide to the Roman dwelling of sculptor Ettore Ximenes Exterior very interesting of relief the magnificent Liberty Frieze, which footprint the spandrel and the windows with floral decorations. The frieze of majolica, representing shoots of oranges, of the attic, is valuable. But it is inside, that the taste of Ximenes and Basile fully finds its completion Beautiful and almost intact the dining room, it is a pity that the upper floors have been totally distorted and for this not visitable Worth the visit, for the inside you have to contact secular nuns who inhabit it
