  • In the midst of high rises and a bit ugly, stands this tower made famous by the movie ghosts of Rome. Now used as a Senior Center.

  • The sky of Rome, who pulled up in 1200, it must have seemed unreachable much to persuade him to limit its height. So to those who arrive in Piazza dei Consoli, Don Bosco quarter, this torètta seems somewhat abortive, a lookout with Bart Simpson and J crenellated vision compromised by trees and buildings around. In the middle ages, however, his side has done it all, for control of a stretch of the Via Tuscolana and in sight of the Tower of Centocelle for luminous signals. Belonged at first to the monks of Sant'Alessio, then sold to a certain Guadralis-hence the name of the whole area-and finally property of Torlonia, the largest landowners of the time in the whole Latium. Built in Tuff bricks and marble fragments has done ' na appearance in ' ghosts of Rome (1961) and, accompanied by a far more recent construction, is currently in good health. On the ground floor a circle of elders in love with their own piece of the city and of being together, with stories and memories about people and around structure. Higher up the space dedicated to exhibitions and meetings courses sereni parties for all ages. alfredodenicolais

  • I will not dwell on the historical part already well delineated from the other reviews, but I want to remind you that this site was immortalized in the film "ghosts of Rome" funny movie with a cast of stars of film and Theatre: Edoardo De Filippo, Marcello Mastroianni, Vittorio Gassman, Sandra Milo. Own Gassman is the ghost that dwells in the Tower in question is appearing in a long sequence where, among other things, it shows the piazza dei Consoli in construction.

  • A place that passes unseen.
  • Commonly called a torétta, the tower in tuff blocks is taken up in the 1961 film Ghosts in Rome. The structure is entrusted under management to a Social Circle Elders. Built in the 14th century, on masonry relating to the Roman republican era.

  • The Torre del Quadraro is a tower of Rome, located in Piazza dei Consoli, in the Don Bosco neighbourhood. It was used in ancient times to control the first section of the Via Tuscolana and was likely to be in visual contact with the Torre di Centocelle. The name of the tower and of the homonymous area, seems to derive from a certain G. G. Guadralis, who in 1164 received in concession the surrounding land by the monks of Sant'Alessio. Commonly called Torétta, the Tower is filmed in the film Ghosts in Rome, in 1961. At present the structure is entrusted in management to the social circle of the Torrettadel City Hall Rome VII of Rome capital that provided for its restoration.

  • Appreciable the fact that they have retrained, having reduced in the early 2000 almost to a pile of rubble... But it was a toy in the hands of the local authorities that totally deaf to the demands of the majority of the population of the ward who turned it as a kind of common symbol, they surrendered it to the Senior center that had installed in a wing of the old structure , instead of making it usable and enjoyable to the rest of the community... I remember the meetings made in many schools and associations in the area in order to reason around the requalification of the Casale and the tower of the Quadrato that were strongly affected by the presence of exponents of this center seniors who actually served to Give yourself a placet to "annex" the management of the new farmhouse and in fact use all the renewed structure as they please, what endorsed then by the then Town Hall and municipality... Devote them to other local structures, more modern and maybe not of historical interest was not possible true?
