  • This Statue with attached fountain is truly remarkable. Perfectly maintained and very large. Really a beautiful work that must be seen at all!!!

  • Brazenness and irreverence: these are the qualities that have made some statues of Rome famous. You can still meet them, there are only six left, scattered here and there, in some street corner or palace. Marforio is famous for the exchanges of jokes with Pasquino, which have become proverbial. Usually, messages denouncing malpractice anonymously, a method hated but difficult to hinder, thanks to the enthusiastic complicity of the people. Among the most famous conversations between the two, one cannot fail to mention the one directed against Napoleon, who was not forgiven for the heavy stealing of works of art during the war campaigns. - "Pasquino, is it true that the French know all the lad?" - "Everyone doesn't, but BonaParte!" Only in Rome can the sculptures, if they wish, even speak.

  • Housed in the small inner courtyard of the New Palace, you can admire it at the end of your visit to the Capitoline Museums. It, along with the most famous Pasquino and other characters, is one of the so-called "talking statues" of Rome. Don't miss it! @gargio76

  • A situation when you understand that your predecessors were more talented than you
  • A big reclining statue fountain in the museum courtyard. Was pretty neat to see and not crowded
  • Marvelous sight, not knowing it exists hidden from the square, if you don't visit the museum you can still see it through the gate. My favorite statue in Rome.
  • Inside the Capitoline Museum complex. A huge statue of a Sea God (maybe Triton or Poseidon), who is claimed to talk. He doesn’t seem to have much to say, but dare to sit on the low wall around him and the security guards soon shout and blow their whistles, so his force is still strong.
  • Very nice!
