  • Trastevere itself is perfect, and the hidden Santa Maria church is so lovely. The exceedingly rich ceiling designs and gold is wonderful to see. Be sure, when wondering Trastevere, to pop inside.
  • This church is located in a very charming and beautiful neighbourhood of Rome. Besides the walk to church, it's worth strolling through the whole neighborhood and hang out at the restaurants.

  • After walking all day visiting major monuments of Rome, if you want to disconnect a little visit the Trastevere, typical neighborhood of narrow streets, multitude of gastronomic offer, jobs with many details, and in the square, a gem of a church, well-kept and flirtatious with the details of the Roman churches that make them unique.

  • Lots of gold on the lovely ceiling. While the church is nice, in Rome standards it is not THAT impressive. You may want to drop by while you wander around in the must-see area of Trastevere.
  • Beautiful Basilica in the main square of Trastevere. As with so many churches in Rome, the quaint exterior hide the opulent beauty inside. Is a quick in and out but well worth it.
  • Nice fountain and a good church to tour. Be sure to linger outside the church's entrance to look over the relics. The gelateria is good and makes for a nice respite if temperatures are high or you're weary from walking.
  • Beautiful, relatively quiet church. Well worth a visit to see the spectacular ceilings and paintings
  • The church is beautiful mosaics in 1100 not to be missed and outside on the high part of the façade and both those relating to the presbytery, the median strip made from Cavallini.Uno of the most beautiful places in Rome, ideal for diving in the folk tradition, beautiful the fountain in the square. Characteristic sit on the steps to admire and contemplate the beauty of the place, wonderful walk in the most famous neighborhood in Rome, especially when there is a large crowd, in order to discover the Rome of the past. evening meeting place to spend a pleasant seratae on the square in front of the Basilica, he always performs some street artist. A must see! Here you will find the true Rome at night ... a piece of history and at the same time the "movida" Today, with so many local pubs and many tourist with the exception of the historical places like Enoteca Trastevere a few steps from the Basilica, Via Lungaretta, 86/87, with an always welcoming and warm atmosphere. These places with narrow streets for move from a square to another can not be and should not be explained ... they should experience walking among local, history, shopping, sightseeing. The basilica was built where gushed divine 'fons olei' in 38 BC , Gush of mineral oil. Note the point on a step of the presbytery. District "Roman" bridge between past and present, between religion and monuments, including the people and history.
