  • In the picturesque Jewish Ghetto, overlooking piazza Costaguti, Santacroce was named in honour of the family today, guarding the graves of the family itself. In the floor are several tombstones of 15th and 16th century. The beautiful Baroque façade of the Church, the Center has the portal with a fresco depicting the Madonna enthroned between angels.

  • The Church apparently ancient, with a beautiful façade, painted on the ceiling. In the floor of the gravestones, judging by all members of the same family.

  • The small church of S. Maria in Publicolis (circa XII century), is located in Via dei Carpentami. Historical evidences indicate that the name derives from the proximity to the "Porticus Minucia Frumentaria", in the building where the free distribution of the wheat was used for the people who had the right. The church had several restorations, the present form derives from that happened in 1643, thanks to the Cardinal of the Santacroce family. The façade is on three orders: The first has an imposing partale topped by a broken curved pediment inside which there is a precious fresco representing the Virgin Mary, with a red robe and a gaudy celestial mantle, surrounded by angels (the fresco appears quite Remodeled). On the sides of the portal there are two columns with special capitals. On the architrave is the Latin inscription "DEIPARAE VIRGINI IN PUBLICOLIS MDCXLIII" which in Italian means "To the mother of God the Virgin in Publicolis 1643". On the second order you will find a large window with triangular pediment broken with in the gable a large shell. In the third order a stained glass window in the curvilinear gable, surmounted by an iron cross. The church is a single nave and was used as a chapel by the noble Santacroce family (with descendants since Ancient Rome), in fact there are several monuments and tombstones that concern them.

  • A beautiful church, difficult to find it open but when the eh is really worth a visit because inside there are sculptures and beautiful paintings.

  • Beautiful church also nearly unknown. Surprisingly also their well-preserved Baroque decoration. The altar dedicated to the Virgin and the ceiling paintings as well as the red marble of the walls give a feeling of wealth. Next door, a couple of buried benefactors overlook as on a balcony all marbles made a rather curious scene. Worth a look through this area must and full of charm.

  • Church appointed since the 12th century, and was rebuilt to a design by Giovanni Antonio De Rossi, in 1643. Inside, on the left, beautiful sculptures of Maini operated for the funerary monument of Santacroce.
