  • In the Monti district, near the Park of Colle Oppio, this ancient basilica is in high demand by couples from marriage for its layering and lavish decorations. Unfortunately, aside from the solid columns of bare, they kept the furnishings, the mosaics and frescoes by what was supposed to be one of the richest medieval basilicas and then the capital of Christianity. The basilica is supported by a solid podium built with massive boulders in Tuff, testifying of the foundation dating back to the 3rd century.

  • Small church, not on the most ordinary, is appreciable for some specialties: particularly the altar "elevated", because below it there is a historic crypt, we say "uncovered" that is visible from the nave. Especially then, and also valuable.

  • The Church of St. Martin in the hills is one of the most ancient Christian churches. Anyway in the Foundation. Like many medieval buildings actively used building material from ancient forums. Columns, marble ... Does not produce a super experience, probably because we came here straight from Santa Maria Maggiore.

  • This church is close to Santa Maria Maggiore and well worth a visit when you are in the area, the church is beautifully ornate and due to it not being a top tourist spot it is rather quiet and peaceful meaning you can fully appreciate the splendid interior.
  • Nice church. Beautiful location
  • nice enough church but whats best is the location!
  • A very beautiful church. The Colonnade, the altar and frescoes worth seeing

  • A little neglected. We were looking for relics. Sophia, but we were unable to lock onto them that 100% certainty. Unless you are in the altar on the left side of the main altar, with the sacristy.
