  • One of the stops on the long walk on the Trasteverén Piazza Trilussa was. Cosy place, full of tired tourists who were attacked on the stairs in front of the fountain and marble floorings.

  • It is a small square in front of the river and is the access point to the old Trastevere. Dedicated to the great Roman poet, who was also erected a monument on the right hand side of the square. By day there are artists with their works, the evening many people sitting on the steps near the fountain. A very experienced and pleasant to visit.

  • Exit Ponte Sisto, you end up in Piazza Trilussa, a small square headed to the great Roman dialect poet, dominated by the fontana dell'Acqua Paola. Impressive stairs at the foot of the fountain, place of rest for weary tourists and for those who want to watch a bit of Roman nightlife in the evening. The fountain was originally located on the opposite side of the River, against the backdrop of Via Giulia, was transferred in this square at the end of 1800. On the right side of the square is the monument of the great Roman poet Trilussa. Next to his picture shows one of his poems, "the shadow".

  • Probably the best pizza to go! Absolutely delicious, mouth watering pizzas with fresh ingredients :) I kept going back for more!
  • Some less touristy restraunts.
  • Located in a nice square and has great food.
  • Spectacular pizza with a very convivial host, who has recently taken over the family business again after a few years hiatus. This pizza place has apparently been in his family for 25 years and it shows in the quality of the pizza. Cheaper and better quality and service than the (pretty good) bakery down the road on Renella, where the guys are a little surly. Try the cacio e Pepe and pesto with pepper. Fantastic.
  • Nice place to have a break strolling in Trastevere. In the night it becomes a beautiful gathering place

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
