Piazza della Repubblica, Rome
(3.5/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
Watch the cars zip around the Fountain of the Naiads in the center of Piazza della Repubblica, which serves as a large traffic roundabout. The plaza is surrounded by 19th-century porticos and the basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, and is lit up at night. The large plaza was built over the baths of Diocletian, which give the space its shape. • During your stay in Rome, you will spend probably close to Termini station... Walk 5 minutes to admire the Piazza della Repubblica, which has a beautiful architecture. It is surrounded by 2 large curved Palace which House some lovely hotels, restaurants and shops. In addition, during the year-end holiday illuminations are very nice here. You go back a moment to admire La Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli, which is characterized by an unusual façade, it is in fact a remnant of the baths of Diocletian.

  • One of the most famous squares in Rome, surrounded by half columns and Center the fountain of the naiads. A must visit one of the most beautiful churches in Rome, Santa Maria degli Angeli, converted from a wing of the baths of Diocletian. Beautiful! Not to be missed. Viva Rome! Long live Italy

  • Through the beautiful Piazza della Repubblica almost everyday to go to college or to buy a few books at one of the many libraries that are located nearby (la Feltrinelli, the Feltrinelli International, the IBS square book, but also the pretty and picturesque used book stalls along the road leading to the Stazione Termini). The square is really gorgeous, huge, full of space and light. The beautiful newly renovated fountain is just marvelous, beautiful and impressive! Often accompany some foreign friends and I are always amazed, although this is not strictly tourist attraction. In fact, I think everyone can find something to love in this place steeped in history, something they recognize each other and we can make it part of us. Only down fall, unfortunately, are the machines. The traffic is also governed well enough, but to see so many cars in place so cool is really horrible. However, they are not a distraction so loud to break the enchantment of the sunsets over the square, one of the most beautiful places to see the Roman Sun.
