Piazza della Bocca della Verita, Rome
(3/5 based on 600+ reviews on the web)
Piazza della Bocca della Verita houses one of Rome’s most popular curiosities, which rests inside the portico of the beautiful medieval church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. The Bocca della Verità is the carved marble image of a man’s face and open mouth, which perhaps dates from the first century. According to legend, those who tell a lie while placing their hands inside the mouth will have them bitten off. Inside the square you'll also spot the Arcus Argentariorum, the Arch of Janus, the Temple of Hercules Victor, and the Temple of Portunus. • At the foot of the Palatine Hill, namely in the area where the city has seen its dawn and surrounded by important landmarks such as the temples of the cattle market and the Church of Santa Maria in cosmedin (of which I absolutely recommend visiting). Shame about the fact that it is always overrun by traffic.

  • Time your visit was free ye open staba. Today it is under bars, and windlass is required to organize its approach. This is only approaching the figure, placing the hand, his companion or selfie stick take you photo. And it ended. I do not think that it is worthwhile, except that it passes right through all+i and there are no people. There are things much more itneresantes to visit and tour in Rome.
