  • A tiny hole without even the sign where delicious sweets are baked. I tried the cake with sour cherry and ricotta. Fragrant and tasty.

  • Return to this famous pastry after many years, I had a great memory and unfortunately I had to change my mind. The staff is very rude and not at all attentive to hygiene standards, with great naturalness touching money and products as if nothing had happened. Most of the desserts is burned on the surface, prices have risen dramatically and the quality is absolutely poor. Donot dessert with the pastry, ricotta and sour cherries and also the one with the chocolate version. In fact inside is raw, tough and ricotta is on the verge of snippy. My fond memory was literally crushed. Never coming back and do not recommend it highly enough.

  • It’s like traveling in time. Walking in this magnificent establishment the smell instantly starts working on the taste buds. They have a dry fruit, and pine nut pastry, so incredible that I ask any one I know heading to Rome, to bring back a doggy bag. I suggest visiting at the first day of your holiday to stock up and visit again on your last day, for a takeaway back home :-)
  • You won't regret. Cakes that taste like sweet music. It is true what the others have written. These are the most amazing cakes we ever tasted. We bought 3 kinds. Very different with their own good consistency and taste. Lots of good ingredients. Come early. No standing in line, and many cakes. Normally we say that a shop is on the corner, but one this is the corner. Try it, even if you have to stand in line. You won't regret.
  • My wife and I were enticed inside by the aroma of fresh baked pastries. This very simple shop had a limited number of offerings the afternoon we visited but everything looked like it was freshly baked. We ordered the same exotic looking pastries the customers in front of us were ordering. I have no idea what the pastries were but they were both pretty good albiet very sweet. Prices were a little on the high end. Definately worth checking out if you are walking by and your blood sugar is low.
  • Some things here are delicious! My husband and I are obsessed with their almond "cookie" like pastries. Their sugar "donut" rolls aren't special, however. The line gets pretty insane if you go around 10-11am, so be aware of that!
  • Rudeness and arrogance. Any availability and welcoming feeling of client, a classic traders with too many tourists. Obviously very high prices. Considered traditional, but if your tradition is spit in people's mouths would we give up again. As for foreign visitors: as a Roman I can advise you, avoid this tourist trap, they treat you badly and you can find better nextdoor.

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
