Passeggiata di Gianicolo, Rome
(4.8/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web)
Look over the rooftops of Rome at Passeggiata di Gianicolo, set on a hill that extends all the way to the Basilica of St. Peter. You'll be high enough to see the major monuments and smaller side streets. Every day at noon a single cannon announces midday from the hill. For a preview of your visit, watch the opening scene of the film "The Great Beauty," which shows the attraction in all its glory. Passeggiata di Gianicolo is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Rome Edition.

  • If they met in Rome and have wanted to see something different. They must organize how to reach and return. Only a collective raises them and low is 115. You can take it without difficulty. There is a beautiful fountain and a tribute to Garibaldi. There are no bathrooms!. Only street kiosks for drinks and sandwiches.

  • Well worth the effort to get there. Beautiful grounds and a perfect place to rest for awhile and enjoy the view! We managed to miss the entrance and ended up walking full circle around the park. Not m...  more »
  • A must stop for tourists and even someone like me who is in Rome. Its terrace in the city, his cannon. Shame about the uncivilized who leave the bottles on the ground and trucks bar where a small bottle of water costs 2/3 euros and a beer costs 5 euro
