Created after the second world war in the neighborhood, is characterized by the dome on which four Angels holding a crown surmounted by a cross. The façade is a relief depicting the apotheosis of Saint John Bosco. At the side of the presbytery there is a large pipe organ, still one of the largest pipe organs in Italy

This impressive parish church built in the second half of the twentieth century to the Salesians in honour of the founder St John Bosco, led to the name of don Bosco quarter. Elevated to Basilica minor, the temple was designed by Ra in the white color of the marble with a marble façade and statues of Saints Salesian crowned by two domes, one huge covering most of the Church and the great nave, the two small side host the side altars. Beautiful gold chandeliers and murano glass, as well as the beautiful stained glass Windows and mosaics, including the great altar with the glory of St John Bosco. The tiles of the cross by Bill bro zee beautiful as angels and the bronze Tabernacle by Pericle Fazzini machine. Nice indeed!

  • Despite the outward appearance that gives massive architecture typical of the Fascist period, this church has a very broad and moderate.

  • One of the largest domes in Rome, inside a lot of blades and stained glass in a modern style that recalls the Gothic. The parish is salesiana and is in effect the heart of the district, of course some flaw he does ... but it is a basilica and it is not easy to administer it, but despite being impressive gives anyway the feeling of "Parish". Great DUN Gorg!

Where to stay in Rome

For easy foot access to most of the city's main historical sites, consider staying in Rome's old town center. The area is conveniently placed for public transport, only a walk away from the city's main railway station. Accommodations here span all hotels sectors, from cheap hostels to luxury brand names. To avoid the steep prices and overcrowding of the town center, explore the hotels in the inner suburbs of Rome. They offer comfortable rooms and excellent food at a fraction of the price charged by the centrally located hotel chains. Another affordable option is the area around Vatican, which boasts a good selection of family-owned B&Bs.
